I have given L24 Nikons to two of my daughters. Over about 6 months the price retail price dropped from $120 to $80. The camera has facial recognition which is great for autofocus - I noticed my daughter had not been using it and lots of pics were not focused, so if you give it as a gift to a "non techie" walk him/her through the steps to select the "easy focus" facial recognition config if the subjects are mostly going to be people. It's easy to select the shooting mode.

I noticed the flash is nice because most flashes I have used nuke the subject in white light - I was in a dark gym over the weekend and I snapped a few portraits of my daughter and her friends with this camera, and the flash did not paint everyone white--I could see skin tones and I could tell the colors of the clothes they were wearing--NICE.

Aside from megapixels, the dynamic range of the image sensor must be great because the colors of the pics are stunning.

In flash mode, I noticed it seems to take some time to decide when to snap, so subjects who are not patient may move away before it snaps. Read the owner's manual--some cameras are intelligent enough--this one MIGHT be one of those--such that in facial recognition mode the camera will NOT take a pic if someone blinks!

I'm not a fan of canister vacs...always a pain. But I love the orange color!

I used a dirt devil handheld and then regular upright for everything else. I vacuum flat large areas more often than stairs, so that was my solution. I had a canister growing up and your are always tugging on it...you know how the cord always gets in the way now you have the canister to always pull and move around as well.

Design Maven: Guys, you may know this, but just in case you don't...for the last two days when I click my notices, I get an oops message. Then when I reload the page, the blue maintenance message comes up that the site is down and I can't log in for hours. FYI...
